The first one: The longer you know them, the more you understand how they think. Therefore, for the entire life of yours, you two share the bond that no one will have.
The second one: The longer you know them, the more you don't understand them. Which often is the way for people in modern days. Many people seemed too complicated for others to understand them, or should we say that they preferred not to be understood?
Of course, I reckon people would prefer the first kind of friends. But think back, how often have you yourself played the role of the second kind of friend? Maybe you did it unknowingly, or maybe the friendship just, you know, cracked. Sigh.
